AI is officially leaving the screen!

For years, most of the “intelligence” lived in massive, centralized data centers. But the real shift happens when AI leaves the cloud and starts living inside the devices and machines around us.

In just the last 24 hours, we’ve seen:

  • 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹‐𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝘆: Physical robots moving into offices and public spaces, through Mint’s new partnership with Rice Robotics to deploy service and security robots across Asia.

  • 𝗘𝗱𝗴𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: A new automotive AI chip from STMicroelectronics that runs AI models directly in the car, making microsecond decisions for sensing, control, and predictive maintenance.

  • 𝗔𝗜 𝗴𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘂𝗽: Policy moves in the U.S. aimed at protecting the AI infrastructure build‑out, including discussions about tariff carve‑outs for data‑center‑critical chips and hardware.

And this isn’t coming out of nowhere. Although OpenAI’s Jony Ive designed device is delayed to 2027 and can’t use the “io” name anymore, they’re still betting on a screenless, AI first device. That tells you the 𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘧𝘵 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘩𝘺𝘴𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘭 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘭𝘥 𝘪𝘴 𝘢 𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘰𝘧 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘯, 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘪𝘧.

What does this really mean if you lead a business?

This isn’t just a tech upgrade. It changes how you spend money, how fast you can react in the real world, and how you protect data. If you’re in a non‑tech‑native industry and your roadmap is 100% cloud‑dependent, you’re building on an architecture that’s aging out for physical operations.

The real question now is simple:

𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗯𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝘀𝗽𝗹𝗶𝘁‐𝘀𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱, 𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲?
